Choose the test that matches your source
Open Alerts → Test delivery. The connection panel separates Alert-card sources, Hosted widgets and other sources. A connected hosted label does not mean a custom alert-card widget is connected.

Send a card to a custom alert widget
- Open the OBS scene containing your custom alert widget and keep it visible.
- Check that Alert-card sources shows a connection. Use Refresh connections if needed.
- Choose Follow, Sub, Resub, Gift, Cheer or Raid. Set a sample viewer name and optional message.
- Press Send test alert, read the delivery result and watch OBS.
Use Customize card details for the top line, bottom line and name colour. Poll, Prediction and Hype train sample buttons target their matching custom widgets.
Test a hosted widget
For a widget created on Widgets, open that widget’s editor and use its preview and matching test controls. The generic custom-card test on Alerts is not a test of every hosted widget type.
Check the behaviour separately
Use the flow editor’s Test fire to inspect the automation without sending to Twitch or your live overlay. Use the widget or Alerts test to check delivery. To change an alert’s trigger or message, open its flow through Edit alert flows.
