# Firebot alternative for Mac, in your browser

How Bloopbot compares with Firebot: both are free to start and need no code, but Bloopbot runs on its own servers, so there is nothing to install on a Mac or PC and your commands keep answering when your computer is off.

Checked October 2026 against [Firebot](https://firebot.app).

## Firebot and Bloopbot compared

Both are free to start and both avoid code. They differ in where the bot runs.

| | Firebot | Bloopbot |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Where it runs | An app on your computer | Bloopbot’s servers |
| Operating systems | Windows 10/11, macOS 12 or later, most common Linux distros | Any computer with a browser |
| Price | Free and open source | Free, with [Plus and Pro plans](https://bloopbot.com/pricing) |
| Building logic | Effects in lists, with conditional, switch and loop effects | A canvas of triggers, checks and actions |
| Your own code | Custom Script and Evaluate JavaScript effects | No code in flows; [custom overlays](https://bloopbot.com/features/custom-twitch-overlays) take your own HTML, CSS and JavaScript |
| Overlays | Overlay widgets, added to your broadcasting software as a browser source | Hosted overlays you add to OBS as a Browser Source |
| Loyalty and games | Currencies, with built-in Slots and Heists | Loyalty points, with slots, roulette, duels, heists and bets |
| Your computer | Effects can run a program or press keys and mouse buttons | Flows can switch OBS scenes and start recording, but can’t run programs or press keys |
| Platforms | Twitch | Twitch and Kick |

## A Firebot alternative for Mac

Firebot lists macOS 12 and later as supported, so it does run on a Mac. You install it and keep it on your computer, and macOS and Linux versions don’t update automatically.

Bloopbot has nothing to install, so a Mac is no different from a PC:

- You build and change flows in your browser, signed in with Twitch or Kick.
- Your overlays and alerts are web pages that OBS for Mac shows as a Browser Source ([Add an overlay to OBS](https://bloopbot.com/docs/widgets-in-obs)).
- Commands, timers and moderation keep answering in chat when the Mac is asleep or off.
- Flows can start from what OBS does and switch scenes through your overlay ([Control OBS from flows](https://bloopbot.com/docs/control-obs-from-flows)).

## The same ideas on a canvas

There’s no importer for Firebot, so you rebuild the commands and events you use most.

| | Firebot | Bloopbot |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Effects | Effects in an effect list | Action steps in a flow |
| Commands and events | Custom commands; events such as follows, subs and raids | The flow’s trigger, such as **Chat command** |
| Timers | Timers | An **On a timer** trigger |
| Restrictions | Conditions on a command or reward, such as a role | **Who can trigger** and **Cooldown** checks |
| Sharing | Setups, exportable files of commands, counters and more | Flow packs on the [Marketplace](https://bloopbot.com/docs/the-marketplace) |

## When Firebot is the better fit

Firebot is free and open source. Its effects can run programs, press keys and click for you, and run your own JavaScript as a step, and Bloopbot can’t do those. If you want that reach, or full control of the code, Firebot is the better fit. Bloopbot suits you if you’d rather build on a canvas, stream to Kick as well, or have a bot that doesn’t depend on your computer being on.
