# Post to Instagram when you go live on Twitch

Bloopbot posts a picture of your Twitch stream to Instagram when it starts, with your title and category in the caption, once per stream. Needs a Business or Creator account.

## What your followers see

Every Instagram post is a picture with a caption. The picture is your stream's Twitch live preview, or one from your Media library, and the starter caption is:

```

Change it to anything you like; **Insert…** adds values such as your title and category.

- **Links.** Instagram doesn't make a link in a caption clickable, so put your Twitch link in your Instagram bio, as the starter caption says.
- **Pictures.** Bloopbot turns the picture into a JPEG and sizes it. The Twitch live preview fits Instagram's shape; for your own picture, a square works.
- **2,200 characters** and up to 30 hashtags in a caption. Longer text is cut with ….
- Instagram allows 100 posts every 24 hours through apps, on top of Bloopbot's 10 an hour.

## The flow

The **Socials** pack's **Post to Instagram when you go live** is four steps you can open and change:

1. **Stream starts or ends**, set to **Live**.
2. **Variable is**: this stream hasn't been announced on Instagram yet.
3. **Post to Instagram**, with the caption, the picture and a live preview of the post.
4. **Set a variable**: remember this stream once Instagram confirms the post.

So a short disconnect doesn't post twice, and your next stream gets a fresh post.

## Set it up

1. Open **Connections**, choose **Instagram** and press **Connect Instagram**. Approve Bloopbot on Instagram. A personal account can't connect: switch it to a professional account in the Instagram app's **Settings** first.
2. On **Flows**, press **Add** and add the **Socials** pack. Its flows install paused.
3. Open **Post to Instagram when you go live** and press **Send test post** to see the real post on your profile. Instagram takes a few seconds to process the picture.
4. Switch the flow on.

Posting to Instagram may not be available on your channel yet. **Connections** shows which networks your channel can connect.
